It is important for police dogs to learn to swim as some offenders will stop at nothing to get away from police.
In future weeks, Axel will be introduced to the ocean so he can become familiar with the sound of waves and the rough water.
Axel's training is all about making games for him. He loves chasing his toy and he will go through the water to get to it!
